I agree with your thinking Stu, but get concerned when the idea of church presentation 'excellence' is put forward.

It's true that God is not glorified by a "that'll do" attitude but this is often used as a reason to go to the other extreme. And become a focus.

Recently at our church in Brisbane, we've had an upgrade. It's in an old egg factory so we needed something more presentable. It looks and sounds great. It doesn't need anything more for us to glorify God, so I hope our reno's stop there for now ;-)

I cannot find the notion of excellence in outward things validated in the Word.

(I'm a Pentie and been to many Hillsong services and events over the years I lived in Sydney)
