'What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God' (v7)
The clearest testimony of Jesus' identity comes from a demon-infested man. Ironic really. Ironic, but not surprising.
When our need is acute then clarity can often come. The poor, dispossessed, sick and oppressed knew more about who Jesus out of the desperate nature of their need. They more readily made the step of faith necessary to acknowledge the sovereignty of God that Jesus personified.
When we have life all sorted out - when we are cruising without any apparent needs - when we are self-sufficient - in these seasons Jesus' true identity can be masked.
Father, may my awareness that I am a sinner in need of saving always drive me to my knees in acknowledging you as Lord of All, including me.
