After 22 hours in a plane or in transit, I finally arrived home on the Gold Coast at 11pm Monday night. What a relief. It was a shambles in Sydney. Long lines, delays, poor service. Just another day in the life of Qantas really. 'Full-service' airline? I for one will not be seduced by the free coke and corn chips!
I had a fantastic time in Hawaii. It was wonderful seeing Jon and Elin in their home and watching them both thrive in their ministry with YWAM. Elin mentors and disciples a number of girls, and Jon currently is leading a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with around 300 students and staff. His days are all go! His considerable leadership gifts come to the fore and are so well stewarded in Kona. They really are in the place God wants them.
In the next week or so DTS teams will leave for a variety of destinations for 3-month mission trips. Destinations include China, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Tanzania, South Africa, U.S.A (New York an Bolder), Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, Rwanda, Yap, Guam and India. Whew! What an amazing ministry Jon and Elin are involved in and what a privilege for our church to be supporting them.
