I sent you to reap what you have not worked for. Others have done the hard work, and you have reaped the benefits of their labor. (John 4:38)
Nothing excites me more as a Pastor than to see people discover new faith in Jesus. This has been the greatest joy of the last (almost) five years at Newlife. It is such an incredible privilege to observe people's eyes opened to the grace of God. To play a small part in that process - well that is just so humbling.
Long before we take the step of trusting God with our lives, God is drawing us to take step towards that final step. God comes to us long before we come to him. And God comes to us in the form of people and situations that prepare the way and the ground for faith to bud and then bloom. Some of us then have the privilege of being agents of God's saving work in a person's life at the end of what has already been a long journey.
So Lord, thank you for the incredible privilege of being a Pastor. Thank you for the front row seat I get in watching as people discover your grace for them. May I never become jaded or complacent about what you can do in a someones life. And may I see many, many more take that life-transforming step of faith - all for your glory.
